The ornate cupola on top of the north side of the Exercise and Nutrition building (ENS), the original 1934 Montezuma Mesa Dual Gymnasium (for both men and women), is often anachronistically called “Day’s Doghouse,” in reference to San Diego State’s sixth president and his no-nonsense management style.
